Your Theme is Important

Shoemoney DesignWhat do people see when they first come to your website? Your header? Your picture or title? I believe that the answer to this is all of them. While having a custom header is important, the theme of your website, how easy on the eyes it is, and how well it functions, are all important in keeping people coming to your blog. I myself have been thinking of using a new theme on this website.

Having a nice, clean theme is also important to you as a blogger. If you are not happy with the way your website or blog looks, it is unlikely that you will be motivated to work on it. Being able to organize your thoughts, feature what you want to show, and perhaps place advertisements well are all important. And it all comes down to picking the right theme. It helps brand your image, you stand out from all of the free themes out there that thousands of people use.

There are people out there who are gifted website and blog designers. While I am looking towards learning CSS and how to design my own wordpress themes, I would most likely use a theme that has already been coded now. It will be easier than trying to mess with my own theme until it works, disrupting the experience of my readers. The main reason why I am working on this theme is that I’ve noticed it doesn’t work too well in IE. Now I support the Firefox movement all the way, and if you don’t have it, I suggest that you go out and get it, but I’d still like for everyone possible to be able to read this blog.

I’ve been examining a lot of theme developers, and seeing as how I’ve not really hit it big yet making money online, I’d have to find a reasonably priced theme. That means that there will be no custom design here. What I am looking at is over at Unique Blog Designs. You can check out their themes here. I really like their Block Magazine Theme.  They’re pretty famous as designers too, working on Shoemoney and John Chow’s themes.  You can see an example of their work in this post.  It really is awesome looking. I would however, also like your own opinions on possible themes for this website. Let me know what you think is cool in a comment, and I’ll be sure to check it out.

One day, soon, hopefully, I will be able to offer my own designs. However, until then, we’ll work towards this! If you’re feeling generous, you can donate a coffee to me to help me get it!

What tips do you have for making your blog look better?

Nice and Neat theme would be a key factor. Color white would be a great!!!… It would be hard to read if you got a colored background. Font sizes would be also an issue here. Some themes have so small sizes of fonts and if your not into coding than it would be difficult for you to resize it.

Make a theme that’s easy to read and allows for good use of page real estate for affiliate ads that do not interfere with the post content. Also avoid affiliate banners that slow down the speed that page loads.

    Great site baby!
