Your first Adsense $100
I thought I’d take this time to ask you guys who are reading this how long it took you to make your first $100 from Adsense? I know that it can be a slow earner, and it hasn’t exactly made leaps and bounds with me. What was your reaction when you got your first payment? Did it increase exponentially afterwards?
Hopefully, you have reached your first $100. For those publishers that are still trying, I wish you the best of luck!
There are things I like about adsense and things that I hate about adsense.
I like:
- How easy it is to implement.
- The reporting system.
- You don’t have to sign up each site individually.
- The image ads, when they are displayed.
What I hate:
- How slow it is to earn.
- People have become ad-aware to it.
- Low CPC a lot of times.
I’m sure there are many more things that people can find that they like and don’t like. So please, leave a comment with any tips or thoughts on what you think about Adsense, and your first Adsense $100.

Sadly I have not made $100 on adsense yet so I cant say I know the feeling. Right now I am currently at $1.40. It’s okay though my sites have maybe been up a month.
So far adsense does seem slow but I think I continually work on my sites and promote good products and offer good content it will grow.

I still haven’t made my first $100 yet but I’m halfway there at six months so projected, it probably will take me a year.
However, I do admit I haven’t tried very aggressively. It takes me a long time to get things just right - to maximize CTR and for my readers.
This is a project itself, instead of slapping it willy nilly.

Hey guys, it’s ok if you haven’t made it yet, it just means that you have to wait a bit longer. I’m sure that once you guys figure out the right optimization techniques you’ll be rollin’.

Hey Joe. Something that you should make sure to clarify is this… Adsense has what’s called “value pricing” for underperforming blogs. So if your CTR isn’t at in the 2-3% range or higher, your clicks become worth about 10% of their value.
I thought I would share the warning because it seems that all of the comments above me are having a tough time with Adsense. The best thing to do is remove it, and find something else to monetize with. Adsense is a notoriously bad performer on these types of blogs.
I suggest removing it before it brings your other blogs down too. One bad performing blog will get all sites that you use Adsense on “value priced”. You don’t want that. If a click is normally worth 50 cents, you’ll only make 5 cents (or less) if you are in the value priced category.

Adsense sure is hard to earn from if the ctr for the subject you’re blogging about is low. I’ve currently made $50 from adsense from sites I made about mesothelioma which has a very high ctr. I stayed at only a few dollar for a long time though.

Hey, that’s a great job Hafiz! I’m doing pretty well with Adsense myself right now, so I’m personally pretty happy with it. I know it can be difficult to do though!
