Make More Online with Themed Ads and my 1st Contest!

Costumes for the whole family! If you’re looking for contest information, please scroll down a bit! It can be very frustrating to try to make money online using ad networks. Trust me, I feel your frustration! I’ve been working with adsense for 3 months and am just getting to about $20. Other ad networks have made me little or nothing. There is a problem with that, isn’t there? The trick is trying to find the ads that will work. My suggestion is to use themed ads. If Halloween is coming around, throw up a Halloween Ad! If Christmas is coming, how about a Christmas ad, or an ad pertaining to shopping?

Now this can be tough if you’re only working with adsense. Don’t get me wrong, Adsense is a great way to try to make money online, and I use it on both of my blogs. However, with contextual ad networks like adsense, it can be difficult to find the ads that will be based on the times. This is where a program like Commission Junction comes into play. A lot of advertisers know that they have to theme their ads based on the time of the year, and what specials they are running. The ads have already been created for you, and they look great! They will serve as a reminder of what is currently going on, and should increase your click thru rate. Increasing your click thru rate equals more money for you! So when looking at what you have running on your site, consider what time of the year it is, and seeing what ads you have available to you! More Merchant, for example, has emphasized the importance of Christmas Blogging, so be sure to keep this in mind when the time rolls around. It’s really soon!

CONTEST INFORMATION HERE

Ok, now onto my first contest! Some of you may have noticed the new Chip In widget that I have installed on my sidebar. Chip In is a program that allows you to collect money online. Now, some of you may be wondering how this gets you money, and don’t worry, I’m getting there! This contest will feature a cash prize! My current chipin goal is $250 dollars. The contest is simple. Donate a dollar, and get an entry into the contest! I will be giving away three cash prizes of $50 each. So that means that 60% of the money put into my Chip In will be given back to you, the readers! Each winner will also be receiving a link and a place on my blogroll.

Pretty simple huh? But money won’t be the only way to have an entry. All entrants will need to donate at least $1 to be entered into the contest. However, after that, how else can you enter?

  • Review this Blog - 2 extra entries. Please make sure that you use the anchor text To Infiniti and Beyond .
  • Fave this Blog on Technorati - 1 extra entry.
  • Stumble this - 1 extra entry.
  • Post about this contest - 2 extra entries. You can do this as many times as you want, each post will be two more entries.
  • Donate more. Each $1 = 1 more entry.

When you have done any of the above, send me an email, and I’ll confirm your entries. Make sure that you include your name on Technorati and Stumbleupon if you choose to do that, and also the URLs of the entries you post about it, if you choose to. Pretty simple contest, with many opportunities to enter and win. So what are you waiting for? Enter now, and get your chance to win $50!

Feel free to leave any comments or questions.  If you’ve been wondering how to leave a comment, just click through the article header to the single post page.  All comments and trackbacks can be left there.

This contest will end when the $250 goal is reached.
