Hosting has been purchased!

Great news everyone! I’ve purchased a hosting account through GoDaddy! Hopefully I will be able to get this domain moved over there and then start really getting things rolling on this blog. It should hopefully fix everything that is currently broken on this site, and if it doesn’t I’m sure Godaddy will hear about it!

Now you’re probably wondering why I purchased through GoDaddy instead of someone else. Well, there are a few reasons for that. First of all, I bought this domain from them. I also purchased Intermission at Workfrom them so I am fairly comfortable in doing business with them. They have excellent customer service from what I’ve experienced, so that also helps! Second, I got a great deal. I have the economy linux hosting for now, since this site is fairly new and doesn’t draw too much traffic yet. The deal I have works out to about $2.09 a month for hosting. That’s a pretty great deal!

How did I get this deal? Well, if you’re interested in it, GoDaddy has coupon codes which are readily available online. The one I used was catalog7. This allows you to get a whopping 25%off your order of $75 or more. That’s pretty amazing for me. I’m sure that there are advocates for other hosting services out there, but I am going to stick with GoDaddy for now because of this great deal that I got!

Now of course, hosting isn’t for everyone. But I am trying to become a bit more serious about my blogging, and I’m just doing my best to follow the guidelines provided by the best bloggers out there. Everyone is there own blogger though, so take their advice with a grain of salt. You don’t have to do what they say!

Here are some other codes for you if you’re looking to purchase anything from Godaddy:

Catalog1 - Save $20 off your order of $75 or more.
Catalog2 - Save $20 off your order of $75 or more.
Catalog3 - Save $20 off your order of $75 or more.
Catalog4 - Save $20 off your order of $75 or more.
Catalog5 - Save $20 off your order of $75 or more.
Catalog6 - Save $20 off your order of $75 or more.
Catalog7 - Save 25% on your order of $75 or more.
Catalog8 - Save $20 off your order of $75 or more.
Catalog9 - Save $20 off your order of $75 or more.

Well, here’s a little update on how the money is rolling in here. As you can probably tell, the income stream is …. zero right now. I’ve also invested some money into this site, so I’ll list that here.

Domain Name Purchase: $35.65 - 5 years
Economy Linux Hosting : $100.36 - 4 years

So I do have some catching up to do. I’ll be sure to keep you updated on anything that I find that looks promising or works out well for me. The income streams that I’m currently experimenting with (or will be experimenting with) on this site and other sites include:

Google Adsense
Auction Ads - Get a Free $25 for New Publishers!
Pay Per Post
- Not an affiliate link, but I may add a banner somewhere so you can help me out! Or visit Intermission at Work and sign up through there! (For now)
Earn $$ with WidgetBucks - Also Get $25 for new publishers!!
Make money from your Website or Blog with BidVertiser - Another PPC Network, it lets you pick what goes on your site!
Kontera Ads - Ads in your posts, text based.
Azoogle Ads - Mentioned in a previous post, I just got accepted. Very nice ad system.
Amazon Associates- Get money when you refer people to buy on Amazon.
Chitika - I’m using their emini malls system on my other blog. It seems interesting, but no returns yet.

I am also going to be experimenting with donations, and other possibilities. To the best of my ability, I will let you know how they work. If something works and I drop it, I will make sure to let you know why. Hopefully the networking I get from blogging can help me, and I will do the best I can do to help you out. I hope to be able to provide some sort of monetary rewards or prizes to readers once I start getting some returns. Until then, stay posted!

I hope you enjoyed this post. Please leave comments about your hosting adventures and other deals that you may have! Any tips you might have are also greatly appreciated!
