Entering a Blog Contest

It can’t hurt to enter a blog contest to try to get myself started, so here goes:

Ultra-runner Tim Borland is running 63 marathons in 63 days in order to raise funds and awareness for the A-T Children’s Project in their quest for a cure or life-improving therapies for ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T). A-T is a rare, neurodegenerative disease that affects children, giving them the combined symptoms of cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and cancer. Children with A-T — born seemingly healthy — are usually dependent upon wheelchairs by the age of 10 and often do not survive their teens.

Hey, it would be great to win a Nintendo Wii! And if I win it, I’ll be giving it away on this blog for a contest of my own! Hopefully that will help me build up my traffic. And speaking of that, it could help out your site as well! Running a contest is a great way to build up traffic. You have to make sure that you have something of value to give, whether it be ad space, a text link, or something physical. Even cash can be a good prize for a blog!

Now that I’m on the subject of cash, I managed to roll up about $52 in change from my pocket over the past few months… That will probably help pay for hosting! I think I will do it through GoDaddy, even though they broke my feed. I’ve started to get a few visitors now, so anyone who would like to exchange links, please let me know, and we can all join in the experience.
